Description
This piece is a representation of the historical Chinese warrior Guan Yu, who lived between the years 220 and 280, and was known in history and literature as the General of the Three Kingdoms. This warrior is always represented with his face painted bright red, a long beard and his guan dao (spear-like sword) in his hand. In the present day, Guan Yu is still as popular and as powerful a figure as ever. For that reason, traditional Chinese martial arts fighters continue to show respect for this renowned protector.
